Sea, Sun and Swimming
It was a beautiful sunny June morning for Ed's first sea swim challenge; 1 mile of quite choppy sea to conquer on the Welsh coast. A very respectable time of 29 mins ish. He ran out of the sea and up to the finish line where his daughters were cheering him on.
 
Ed Takes It In His Stride
The sun didn't slow him down! Ed enjoyed the Two Castles run from Warwick Castle to Kenilworth Castle on Sunday 6th June. He is planning a few events this summer before getting ready for a big event in Barcelona in October. Watch out as there may be an embarrassing picture on here soon!
Ever-learning
Ed continually invests in his professional development and regularly attends courses and seminars focussing on various important areas. Taxation has been particularly key this year and will continue to be an area that requires forward thinking IFAs to stay very close to, as the new government will be no doubt making changes that our clients will need informing and advising on.
Easter Nest Egg - ISAs
Many clients took advantage of the ISA allowance in the run up to April, as the Stocks and Shares ISA allowance increased to £10,200. This offers a great low tax environment to utilise for savings.

February saw the Annual Portfolio Fund Review to repsond to changes in market conditions.

‘Tis the season to be jolly! Here at ICONIC, the tree is decorated and the mince pies are open. Hope you are beginning to get into the Christmas spirit and the festivities fill you with warmth at this chilly time of year!
This year, we would like to support Akany Avoko children’s orphanage again. Rather than sending Christmas cards we have sent them a donation. Last year the children enjoyed new books for their library, this year it has been suggested that we donate to their new clothes fund. When children are received at Akany Avoko, they often arrive with very little and a set of new clothes makes them feel special and provides the basic items they require.
We hope you are happy with this idea and of course if you too wish to make a donation they would be delighted to receive it, no matter how small. With this charity all the funds go directly to the orphanage and therefore, directly benefit the children.

Congratulations to Ed and Jane as they completed the Stratford Triathlon on cold sunny day. They finished with times to be proud of and Ed is aleady planning more triathlons for next year.
Raising funds for charity as well as raising standards
We were delighted to hear how happy you have been with our service but we won’t be letting it go to our heads! It’s always good to hear from our clients, many thanks to those who returned our recent investment client survey. We will be working to consistently improve our offering to you over the next year. We have made a donation to Cancer Research UK on behalf of the responses we received.

Congratulations to Ed Hodgson who in June, successfully passed his Personal Financial Society Diploma examinations to attain the prestigious designatory letters 'DipPFS'. This makes Ed one of the most highly qualified Independent Financial Advisors in the UK.

The weather wasn't the only thing on form for the ICONIC investments' Belfry Golf Event June 2009; the golf was on par too!

A Christmas Gift From You To The Children At Akany Avoko.
Instead of receiving a Christmas card from us here at ICONIC we felt that you would prefer us to make a donation to a wonderful safe haven for vulnerable children in Madagascar, at Akany Avoko. This donation has been gratefully received and the children will soon be enjoying reading some lovely new books, as their heavily used library feels the benefit of your donation. The donation was gift aided and the full amount will go directly to the children. We are delighted to help bring the gift of reading as it supports key skill development and we are told the children adore the time they get to spend in the library.
